Fun With Words

So I came across this wayyyy cool app on my iPad...now it may only be cool to me because I find writing prompts fun and witty (hence the English Degree) but I think it's a great way to get my mind flowing for my own personal writing. Like everyone I get writer's block so this helps keep things fun. Writing can be Fun...not a chore, especially when you do it for yourself. So I thought that I would occasionally share my writing prompts. I will warn you they will probably sound ridiculous, but that is the point. As I work on my novel, I notice that I start to become too serious which honestly hides my true voice. Doing silly prompts like this every once in awhile keeps me thinking and having fun. So I hope you enjoy my silliness! I included a picture of the prompt!

"Ketchup, the food of the gods. Like mana from the heavens cascading down on pristine snowflakes, looking like blood from a dagger dripping upon the pure driven snow. The universal condiment fit for a king and even for Charlie Sheen. A kitchen without it is like a Christmas tree with no ornaments. Red, glorious, Ketchup."

That one was difficult for me! The 55 word limit was heartbreaking and the category of food?! I had a whole paragraph on the joy of ketchup...guess the world wasn't ready for it! That was so much fun...I encourage you to write. Write anything at all. In a diary, journal, a silly story...heck even a grocery list! (Which I should probably do!) I know this seems so silly, and some may not get it...but this kind of think invokes creativity, and that is very important! Creativity is what our world needs. New ideas, inventions, ways to make people laugh, get your creative juices flowing! If any of you decide to try the prompt, I would LOVE to see what you come up with!

Your lovable writer,
Bethany

Do the crime...do the time

I had to share this photo with my blog friends... It was too cute not too! Last Saturday my family went to my Grandmas for some family fun time and it was awesome because all my little cousins got to be there too... Well almost all of them :0) Long story short the kids were outside playing and decided to draw a treasure map on my Grandpas sidewalk with red, green and blue crayon. This treasure map was quite the masterpiece... It took up the ENTIRE length of the walkway. SO once we saw the kids were given scrubby pads and cleaner to scrub off the lovely artwork :0) We were laughing because this is something that they will never forget. Haha a memory that they will laugh about later. That's what I love about my family... We love to laugh and we love making memories... I hope you enjoyed the little post... It had us laughing for awhile. :0) have a good day!

The Cat Jumped Out of the Hat

Well, it has been pretty exciting around here lately! If you follow the beautiful Kristi Egle's blog or are facebook friends than you may have already heard the great news...I was so happy and honored that she would do a blog post about it for me! I have been so busy that I just haven't had the opportunity to do one myself! And big thank you to T I lifted the photo from her blog since it was beautifully edited (Thanks T!!). So here is the good news officially from me...A publisher has accepted my first manuscript!

Yes! I was and still am pretty shocked! Josh and my family and friends have been so supportive. They encouraged me to send my manuscript to publishing houses and then I have been praying and believing ever since! This has been a dream of mine since I started college and declared my English major. Words in books are like time machines that take you to far away lands that can help us develop our imaginations and teach us how to dream BIG dreams. I feel so blessed that God has made it come true. Everything that is happening is all because of Him and I am thankful beyond words.
Everything is still in the beginning stages... I just signed our contract and will be starting all the fun stuff soon! I will definitely be keeping updates on here. It is quite a process so it will be awhile before the book is ready :O) Anyways, I thought I would make it official and share the news myself as well! I know this is going to be the most amazing adventure and I look forward to having you along on the journey with me.

I had to share these photos because the flowers were just SO gorgeous. My best friend and her family sent this to me the day after I found out! The Furtado family has been a part of my life since I was in the 5th grade... that's like 12 years.. plus Holly and I went to preschool together..I just wanted to say thank you to them on here. I was completely in awe of their generosity and kindness. Like I said I am so blessed to have the family and friends that I do.
So here's to what lies ahead. I know it will be just Fabulous.

Happy B-Day Josh!

Hey Guys!
So February 26th was an awesome day...Josh turned 26! I know it is a little behind but I wanted to honor my fabulous husband for his birthday. I am so blessed to call Josh my partner in life...sometimes my partner in crime ;O) He takes care of me, loves me unconditionally and makes me laugh hysterically. He has gone through so much in his life and has come out on top and since we have been dating we have grown together and learned so much from each other. I look forward to MANY more birthdays with the love of my life!
For Josh's Birthday we had been planning a trip to Disneyland! We had our annual passes and thought what better way than Disneyland to celebrate?? What Josh didn't know was that my parents had picked out his birthday presents MONTHS ago...they had bought him tickets to go see the Boston Celtics vs. the LA Clippers. Now, for those of you who don't know...Josh lives and breathes for the Celtics...haha! Seriously they are his team!! So mom and dad surprised him with the tickets before we went and the game was on his actual birthday! My parents also blessed us with rooms at the Disneyland hotel...OMG! They were their new refurbished rooms...I just have to tell you the headboard is made out of a cherry wood and goes up to the ceiling...then there is a giant castle etched on it...then when you turn off the lights you flip a switch and the whole headboard lights up with twinkle stars and fireworks as it sings "A dream is a wish Your Heart Makes.." SO COOL! We are so blessed to have mom and dad. So if you guys are reading this THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts. We love you.
Now...Of course I have pictures, a lot actually...but I just posted a few so that you could see our marvelous trip celebrating J's birthday :O)
at California Adventure!

It was raining one day so we decided to go the movies in Downtown Disney.
HAHA leave it to Josh to find something like this.

Josh's dream come true! Staples Center

LOVED our seats
Look at Rondo Go!
This guy was awesome. He was just a normal fan dressed like a leprechaun.
This is the awesome FINAL score
Our favorite restaurant in Downtown Disney...SOOOO GOOD!
Space Mountain
Josh LOVES churros!
THE LOVE OF MY LIFE!

It's a Miracle

WOW!
Bethany posted....AGAIN? It's a miracle right? HAHA I am laughing right along with you. I had the urge to start blogging on this again because I like the idea of having a sorta online journal of sorts. I don't want life to go by without it being somewhat chronicled..

Plus...I found our blogger has this feature called "stats" it tells you how many people stop by your blog a day and when I looked... I was SHOCKED to see that I was getting anywhere from 40-70 hits per day! I mean if you guys are checking I might as well give you something to read at least! HAHA I am not sure who reads this...or why you read it...but that's beside the point! The truth is now I have to deliver...I feel obligated to give you something interesting to read about!
So the big joke in our house and with my parents lately has been Charlie Sheen. VERY SAD...I know, but there are SO many different jokes to be made! HAHA Josh goes around shouting he has Tiger Blood and I shout that I'm a WINNER! hehe Let's not be so stuffy that we can't laugh about stuff...I do pray for Mr. Sheen though...no matter how crazy his rhetoric I do want him to get better...
WOW that was a huge side note. Josh and I along with my parents and some family Friends are heading to the Caribbean in about a month...We are very excited about that. We love travelling. If i could I would do it professionally. Wouldn't that be a great job? If you could go anywhere where would it be? I have been blessed to see many different places but I have yet to go to Europe. I dream of seeing London. Probably an English major thing, but it just seems magical.

Well...I guess there wasn't anything too interesting today...oh well at least you got something new to read...and all I said was I was giving you something to read...I never said it was gonna be good :O)

oh yes...seriously you have to go to my other blog...that one is actually IMPORTANT...

Don't be shy either...send us your story in and we will publish it...it can anonymous...You know you want too! And you definitely should check it out...the newest post is pretty scandalous...(Now you know you want to look...)

:O)

Oh and what the heck here are some pictures form a photo booth session...Since this post is so RANDOM why not disappoint!
